Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Foti Vasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jussi Kyronviita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jussi Kyronviita has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Foti Vasa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jussi Kyronviita!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasa misses with a wild body shot.

Kyronviita changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vasa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vasa gets back to half guard.
Kyronviita prevents Vasa from standing back up.
Kyronviita working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Kyronviita is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kyronviita is nestled in close to Vasa, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kyronviita has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kyronviita is looking for a kimura but Vasa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kyronviita to get the leverage.
Vasa tries to kick Kyronviita off but Kyronviita keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kyronviita in particular looking to stall.
Kyronviita is keen to just control but Vasa is a slippery customer.

Kyronviita might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Vasa kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Vasa is trying to stand back up but Kyronviita is controlling him
Vasa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vasa tries to get out of the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kyronviita shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Kyronviita decides to stand back up. Kyronviita steps back and let's Vasa get back to his feet.

Vasa misses with a takedown attempt - Kyronviita sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vasa is breathing heavily.

Kyronviita throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vasa was covering up waiting for the punch and Kyronviita finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Vasa wriggles free and stands up.
Vasa goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Kyronviita shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vasa wants to control but Kyronviita is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Vasa wants to get back to his feet.
Kyronviita looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vasa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kyronviita in particular looking to stall.
Vasa is trying to maintain the position but Kyronviita is very close to passing his half guard.
Kyronviita seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vasa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kyronviita stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Vasa misses with a wild combination.
Kyronviita looks for a takedown but Vasa sprawls well.

Kyronviita rushes Vasa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kyronviita is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Vasa pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Vasa is trying to drag Kyronviita to the mat but Kyronviita just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Vasa turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kyronviita is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kyronviita struggling a bit here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kyronviita shoots in for a double leg but Vasa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vasa closes the distance but Kyronviita moves to the side

and Kyronviita counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kyronviita advances to half guard.
Kyronviita uses his free foot to push down on Vasa's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vasa.
Kyronviita lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Vasa hang on?
Vasa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Vasa tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kyronviita jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Vasa manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Jussi Kyronviita has got the better of the ground game so far.
Vasa tries to bench press Kyronviita off him but Kyronviita keeps the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vasa wants to get back to his feet.
Kyronviita moves into full mount!

Vasa is in a horrible position here. Kyronviita smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kyronviita cracks Vasa with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Vasa is trying desperately to improve position.
Kyronviita controlling the position easily from mount.
Vasa wants to get back to his feet.

Vasa's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Vasa is desperately trying to improve his position but Kyronviita has a good base and remains in mount.

Kyronviita fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Kyronviita breaks from Vasa's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Vasa is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Kyronviita moves to take his opponent's back.
Kyronviita is looking to control Vasa but Vasa is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Kyronviita looking to break Vasa's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Vasa remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kyronviita will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Kyronviita is trying to stick to Vasa's back but Vasa is turning into Kyronviita. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kyronviita's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Vasa.

Vasa connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

so Kyronviita counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Jussi Kyronviita showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Vasa cracks Kyronviita with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Kyronviita steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Vasa. That one must have hurt.
Vasa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kyronviita as he avoids it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kyronviita is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Kyronviita has Vasa pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kyronviita pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Vasa tumbling to the mat - Kyronviita dives into Vasa's guard.

Kyronviita takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Vasa shoots for a takedown but Kyronviita saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Foti Vasa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Vasa has closed the distance and engaged Kyronviita in a clinch.

Kyronviita swings wildly with an uppercut but Vasa uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vasa looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Kyronviita fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Vasa is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kyronviita gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Vasa has hold of one of Kyronviita's legs. Kyronviita is fighting the takedown attempt but Vasa gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Kyronviita is trying to control the position but Vasa postures up.
Vasa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kyronviita on the ground.
Kyronviita manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Vasa is squirming around, avoiding Kyronviita's attempts to control the action.

Foti Vasa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jussi Kyronviita is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Vasa is trying to get back to his feet but Kyronviita has full control of the position and if anything, Vasa has just worked his way into a worse spot.

I've got Kyronviita winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
