Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Volkov comes to the cage accompanied by The Trooper by Iron Maiden. Costa has chosen Stratovarius - Dreamweaver as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Costa clinches up with Volkov and pushes him back against the cage.
Costa gets through Volkov's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Volkov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Costa looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Volkov swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Costa counters with a three punch combo that has Volkov backing up. Volkov nods at Costa to acknowledge the strikes.

and Costa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Volkov shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Vincent Volkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Volkov sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Volkov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Volkov tries to clinch up but Costa circles away and keeps his distance.
Volkov tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Costa drives through and clinches with Volkov against the cage.
Volkov wants to break free but Costa has control.

Volkov tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Costa lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Volkov backs up against the cage.
Costa scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Volkov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Volkov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Costa.

Costa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Volkov napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Volkov is staying active underneath Costa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Costa is looking to advance position but Volkov won't allow it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Volkov connects with a solid leg kick.

Costa is looking to chop away at Volkov's legs.
Volkov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Costa manages to avoid it.
Whack! Volkov lands a heavy head kick that drops Costa. The ref tackles Volkov to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Costa was done.
