PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevie Why (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is 99 Problems Remix. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Why has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Why on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Carter prevents Why from improving his position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Why is looking to control Carter's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Why avoid being mounted?
Carter seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Carter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Why wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Why looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Carter missing with a left hand there. Why was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Why throws a nice head kick!
Why closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carter circles away.

Carter is trying to trip Why. He has hold of a leg but Why is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Carter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Why had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Carter is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Why Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Carter's back instead.

Why wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carter keeps working.
