PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladislav Draxx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Brisebois (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vladislav Draxx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Brisebois!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Draxx closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Draxx lands in his opponent's guard.

Brisebois is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Brisebois keeping busy on the bottom but Draxx has passed one foot through into half guard.
Draxx is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Draxx trying to control the action but Brisebois is working from the bottom.
Brisebois has hold of Draxx's hands but Draxx slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Draxx prevents Brisebois from improving his position.
Brisebois looks gassed!

Draxx seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brisebois does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Draxx escapes and gets back to his feet.

and Draxx decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brisebois's guard.
Draxx throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brisebois is on top in guard.

Brisebois pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Draxx is keeping the position for now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brisebois stands up and waves to Draxx to follow him.
Brisebois doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Draxx counters with a single leg into guard. Brisebois didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Brisebois looking for a guillotine here but Draxx defends easily.
Draxx is looking to work some ground and pound but Brisebois has wrist control.
Draxx trying to control but Brisebois is working from the bottom.

Draxx drops back looking for a leg! Brisebois is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brisebois manages to kick Draxx off! Draxx jumps back into Brisebois's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brisebois is on top in guard.

Brisebois postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Draxx is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Brisebois, into his guard.

Draxx is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Brisebois looking for a guillotine here but Draxx defends easily.

Draxx wants to control from the top but Brisebois keeps moving.
Brisebois has a closed guard, preventing Draxx from standing up.

Brisebois throws his legs up looking for a submission but Draxx uses it to pass to side control.
Brisebois looks to move to half guard but instead Draxx has passed into mount! Damn!

Draxx is standing up, even though he is in mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Draxx shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vladislav Draxx dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Brisebois gets the takedown into side control.
Draxx can't do much from the bottom here.

Brisebois tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brisebois has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Draxx manages to work his way to half guard, despite Brisebois's best efforts.
Brisebois wants to free his trapped foot but Draxx is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Brisebois is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Draxx has managed to free his arm - good work.
Brisebois prevents Draxx from improving his position.

Brisebois seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Draxx has recovered full guard.
Brisebois is breathing heavily.

Draxx has his foot on Brisebois's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brisebois works his way back into a safe position though.

Brisebois has gone for a leg lock! Draxx slips out almost immediately though and dives into Brisebois's guard.
Draxx with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Brisebois looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Brisebois is looking for a triangle but Draxx pushes his legs off easily.
Brisebois keeping moving, preventing Draxx from controlling successfully.
Brisebois manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Draxx manages to get himself to full guard.
Draxx trying to keep a closed guard but Brisebois is proving a slippery customer.

Draxx is looking for a triangle but Brisebois pushes his legs off easily.
Brisebois trying to control the position from guard on top but Draxx is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Draxx looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brisebois is one step ahead there.

Draxx looking for a guillotine here but Brisebois defends easily.

Brisebois stops Draxx from standing up.

Draxx is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Draxx is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Draxx wants to sweep but no luck.
Brisebois slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Draxx is looking to regain half guard here but Brisebois keeps moving and retains side control.

Brisebois swings around for an armbar but Draxx sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Brisebois's guard.

Brisebois throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Draxx escapes and throws Brisebois's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Draxx is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brisebois has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Brisebois is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Draxx's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Draxx passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Brisebois!
Brisebois is squirming around, avoiding Draxx's attempts to control the action.

Draxx stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Draxx fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Brisebois is out of range.

Draxx gets the takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vladislav Draxx dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

and Brisebois counters with a nice double leg into side control. Draxx won't be happy with that.
Who's going to make the next move?

Brisebois is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Draxx knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Brisebois goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Draxx has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Brisebois but great work by Draxx.

Brisebois is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Draxx has latched onto it... Big trouble! Draxx pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Brisebois is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Draxx!
