Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robin Johansson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Silva as Johansson shoots in.
Johansson tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.
Johansson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Johansson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Johansson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Silva has closed the distance and engaged Johansson in a clinch.

Johansson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Steve Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robin Johansson.

Silva manages to break the clinch.
Johansson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva.

Johansson is pressed up against the cage. Silva has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Johansson down to the mat. Johansson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Johansson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Silva fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Johansson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johansson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Silva jumps into side control!

Silva stands up and beckons Johansson to his feet.
Johansson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Johansson sprawls well.
A slapping body kick lands there for Silva.
Johansson looks gassed!
Johansson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johansson's guard.
Silva tries to stand but Johansson is controlling from the bottom.
Johansson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.

Silva gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Silva shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Silva was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Johansson is squirming around, avoiding Silva's attempts to control the action.

Silva is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Johansson throws a left and a right that both miss

and Silva counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Johansson!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johansson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Silva blocks Johansson's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Silva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Silva decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johansson is looking for a sweep.

Silva tries for a kimura but Johansson is defending well.
Silva works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Johansson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Silva wants to control but Johansson is keeping him busy.

Silva decides to take the fight back to the feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Johansson shoots in, scooping Silva off his feet. Johansson is holding his opponent over his shoulder. He slams Silva to the mat and Silva is in big trouble! Johansson is landing strikes to his unconscious foe and the ref dives in to end the fight! Johansson is celebrating with his corner and rightfully so.
