Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Lecter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Svein Pilgaard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pilgaard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lecter pinned against the cage. Lecter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pilgaard throws a head kick that misses.
Pilgaard pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lecter blocks a head kick by Pilgaard.
Pilgaard throws a head kick that misses.
Lecter misses with an uppercut. Pilgaard saw that one coming.

Pilgaard tries to keep at a distance but Lecter has taken the fight into the clinch.
Pilgaard can't break the clinch.
Pilgaard wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pilgaard takes an elbow to the forehead.

Lecter is trying to trip Pilgaard. He has hold of a leg but Pilgaard is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lecter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Pilgaard is trying to keep Lecter in close.

Pilgaard utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lecter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pilgaard is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lecter cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Pilgaard is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Lecter is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pilgaard is surviving well by controlling Lecter's body position as best he can.

Lecter has hold of Pilgaard's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pilgaard manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Lecter lands with some strikes.
Lecter postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pilgaard looks a forlorn figure.

Lecter won't let Pilgaard get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Lecter could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lecter has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pilgaard's face.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pilgaard tries to reverse the position but Lecter maintains control.
Lecter wants to control the pace but Pilgaard is squirming around nicely.

Lecter ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lecter no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lecter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pilgaard's guard.
Lecter is looking to work some ground and pound but Pilgaard has wrist control.
Lecter wants to control from the top but Pilgaard keeps moving.

Pilgaard is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lecter is controlling him.
Pilgaard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lecter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lecter stands up over Pilgaard, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pilgaard works over Lecter's head and body with a nice combination.
Dexter Lecter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lecter shoots in but no luck this time.
Pilgaard tries to clinch up
enabling Lecter to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Svein Pilgaard has been cut.

Lecter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pilgaard can do to turn this around?

and Lecter counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pilgaard's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lecter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lecter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Dexter Lecter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Lecter has an Americana. Pilgaard didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Lecter is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Lecter hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
