PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alonzo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jack meoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes into the arena with Get up blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
meoff has a takedown stuffed.
Silva scores with a nice body kick.

Silva has taken the fight to the clinch.
Silva stops a takedown attempt from meoff.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Silva lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of meoff backwards.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

meoff tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.
Alonzo Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of jack meoff.
meoff fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
meoff looks gassed!

Silva instigates a clinch.
meoff is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
meoff jumps guard but Silva stands there with meoff around his waist. meoff gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
meoff tries to score a body lock takedown but Silva shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Silva lands with a short shot to the head.
The is referee keeping an eye on Silva - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

meoff drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Silva manages to break the clinch.
Silva throws a nice outside leg kick.

Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard.
Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Silva thows a big elbow that misses.
Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but meoff is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
meoff wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch.

meoff has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
meoff tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Silva.
meoff takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
meoff takes a head kick and keeps coming.

meoff closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Silva to the mat! Silva manages to get full guard.

meoff stands up from Silva's guard - meoff perhaps looking for a knockout.
Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
meoff tries for a takedown but Silva circles away easily

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

meoff looking for submissions off his back.
meoff gets back to full guard.
meoff looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.
meoff trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.
Silva wants to stand but meoff is controlling his posture from full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but meoff is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
meoff avoids the head kick by Silva.

Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in meoff's guard.

Silva decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Silva.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.
meoff tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.
A punch combination from Silva misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Silva tries to stand and escape but meoff is controlling the position.

Silva is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Silva wants to stand but meoff has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Silva is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! meoff is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! meoff has escaped and now he's on top!

Silva is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! meoff rolls with it to try and escape but Silva cranks on the arm and meoff is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
