Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Finnigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Finnigan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Finnigan's wake. Tim Finnigan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Michael Angel's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Angel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tim Finnigan!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Angel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Finnigan is looking to regain half guard here but Angel keeps moving and retains side control.
Angel moves into full mount!

Angel swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Finnigan is now in Angel's guard. A big mistake from Angel there, giving up the dominant position!
Angel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Finnigan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Finnigan is looking to stand up but Angel won't let him.

Angel is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Finnigan defends it well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Finnigan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Finnigan wants it to stay on the feet.

Finnigan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Angel can pounce on him.

Finnigan landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Finnigan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Angel is defending well for now.

Angel throws a punch but it's blocked by Finnigan.
Finnigan stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Finnigan using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Angel has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Finnigan is looking to control Angel's arms but Angel gets an underhook and turns him. Now Finnigan has his back to the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Finnigan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Angel moves into range and clinches up with Finnigan.
A head punch on the inside from Angel fails to land.
Finnigan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Finnigan with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Angel lands an uppercut.

Angel is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Finnigan can't fight it off and eventually Angel manages to take the fight to the floor. Finnigan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Poor strikes thrown by Finnigan there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Finnigan throws some wild stikes that Angel manages to avoid easily.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Finnigan cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Angel is in a horrible position here. Finnigan smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Angel wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Finnigan.

Angel is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Finnigan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Angel can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Finnigan throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Angel because Finnigan loaded up on that one.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Finnigan throwing strikes here but Angel is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Angel wants to control but Finnigan is having none of it.
Finnigan working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Angel slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.

Angel has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Finnigan should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Angel has tightened it up now! Finnigan should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
