PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fon Jitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Van Ouden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fon Jitch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Van Ouden!
The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jitch.
Van Ouden tries to clinch but Jitch moves out of range.
James Van Ouden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Ouden changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jitch tries to avoid it but Van Ouden manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jitch to the ground. Jitch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Van Ouden shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Van Ouden showed some decent athleticism there.
Jitch looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jitch is not content to let Van Ouden control the position.
Jitch manages to get to full guard.
Jitch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Van Ouden stands up from Jitch's guard - Van Ouden perhaps looking for a knockout.
Van Ouden shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jitch but Jitch pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Van Ouden shoots for a double leg takedown but Jitch sprawls well. He's pushed Van Ouden's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fon Jitch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Van Ouden.

Jitch has managed to clinch.

Jitch escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jitch darts in and clinches Van Ouden up against the cage.
Jitch gets underhooks to prevent Van Ouden's takedown attempt.
Van Ouden tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jitch just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jitch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Van Ouden changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jitch tries to avoid it but Van Ouden manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jitch to the ground. Jitch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Van Ouden looks gassed!

Jitch moves into the clinch.

Jitch has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Van Ouden uses from the top position.

Jitch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Van Ouden on the ground.

Jitch avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Jitch kicks Van Ouden off and gets to his feet.

Jitch has taken the fight to the clinch.
Van Ouden takes an elbow to the temple.

Jitch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jitch lands a head kick!


Van Ouden is rocked!

Jitch shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Van Ouden is still in real trouble! Can Jitch finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jitch jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Van Ouden is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Van Ouden and Jitch has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Van Ouden seems to have recovered his senses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Van Ouden manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jitch's best efforts.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Van Ouden is looking for a sweep. Jitch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jitch with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jitch working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Van Ouden is looking to improve his position.
Jitch wants to pass the guard but Van Ouden is defending well.

Van Ouden on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Van Ouden tries to roll over but Jitch keeps him under control.
Van Ouden is refusing to be controlled, as Jitch sits in half guard.
It looks like Jitch is going to stand back up.
Van Ouden wants to control but Jitch is keeping busy.
Van Ouden controlling the position for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jitch looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Van Ouden has his takedown stuffed
and Jitch counters with a flying knee. Nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fon Jitch dominated that round.
That's time! Jitch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Jitch! This one is all over!
