Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mario Nieweglowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Absten Brews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mario Nieweglowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Absten Brews!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Sergei Dronov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brews changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nieweglowski tries to avoid it but Brews manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nieweglowski to the ground. Nieweglowski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Brews counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Brews is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Nieweglowski on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nieweglowski tries to get out of the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Brews counters by moving into the clinch.

Brews has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nieweglowski regains guard immediately.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Brews lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Nieweglowski slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Nieweglowski is breathing heavily.
Brews drops an elbow to the side of Nieweglowski's head.
Nieweglowski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brews on the ground.
Nieweglowski wants to improve his position but Brews is controlling well.

Brews seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Brews sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Nieweglowski defending well though.
Brews has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Nieweglowski is staying active underneath Brews, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Brews looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Nieweglowski is trying to maintain the position but Brews is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Brews is looking for a kimura here.
Nieweglowski wants to get back to full guard.
Brews wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nieweglowski keeps working.
Brews is thwarting Nieweglowski's attempts to control the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Nieweglowski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brews prevents Nieweglowski from improving his position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Brews is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

That's time! Nieweglowski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Brews drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brews jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Nieweglowski has momentary wrist control but Brews slips an elbow through the middle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brews is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nieweglowski is looking for a sweep. Brews is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Brews in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Nieweglowski tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Brews!
