Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stupid Hobbit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Crichton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hobbit throws out a leg kick but Crichton moves out of range and Hobbit only half commits.
Crichton ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hobbit moves into range and connects with a jab.

It looks like Michael Crichton has been cut.
Hobbit really is a fat lump.

Crichton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hobbit sprawls well initially but Crichton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Crichton tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hobbit knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Crichton frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Crichton throws some wild stikes that Hobbit manages to avoid easily.
Hobbit tries to hold on but Crichton pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hobbit has his foot on Crichton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Crichton works his way back into a safe position though.

Hobbit manages to stand up with Crichton still on his back. Eventually Crichton drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

Crichton fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hobbit looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Crichton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hobbit as he avoids it easily.

Hobbit sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Crichton drives through and clinches with Hobbit against the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Hobbit just misses with a elbow thrown towards Crichton's brow.
Hobbit is pushing Crichton up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Still in the clinch, Crichton scores with a nice short uppercut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
