PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taite Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickhard Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gordon's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Whistlin' Dixie. On his way into the cage it seems that Taite Gordon has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Taite Gordon seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith looks to throw the jab but Gordon is out of range.
Gordon scores with a body shot.
Gordon takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Gordon takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gordon uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Smith.
Gordon throws a hook to the side of Smith's head but Smith sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Gordon is breathing heavily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Taite Gordon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith throws a shot from downtown. Gordon moves away and avoids it.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith swings for the body but Gordon moves out of range.

Smith throws a quick inside leg kick.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gordon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.

Smith shoots in and bounces Gordon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Smith scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Smith slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Smith is fighting to break Gordon's control of his arms but Gordon is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Gordon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Smith drops back looking for a leg! Gordon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gordon manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Gordon's guard.

Gordon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Smith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gordon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Gordon is looking to wear down Smith with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Smith tries to move into range but Gordon moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Smith shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Gordon scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Smith drops his hands momentarily and Gordon takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Taite Gordon will probably get the nod.

Gordon lands a two punch combo.
Gordon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Smith throws a looping overhand right but Gordon ducks down to avoid it.

The fighters circle momentarily. Gordon darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Gordon throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease.
The crowd cheers as Gordon lands an impressive looking overhand right. Smith doesn't seem phased though.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Smith lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gordon has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gordon and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Gordon has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.

Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gordon to the mat! Gordon manages to get full guard.

Gordon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.
Gordon wants to stand and escape but Smith is having none of it.

Gordon is looking to sinch up a triangle. Smith throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gordon's body to avoid the submission. Gordon has instead reached around Smith's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gordon arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
