PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DMX (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). 's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Rain - DMX. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DMX !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Fox!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
throws a body punch but Fox moves out of range.
Fox tries to clinch up but circles away and keeps his distance.

tries for a takedown but Fox manages to get underhooks.

Fox is trying to drag to the mat but just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Horrible takedown by or perhaps it was just good defense by Fox which made him look bad.
Fox stuffs the takedown.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fox wants to stand but is controlling the position.
stands and throws Fox's legs to the side, diving into side control.

tries to score with some ground and pound. Fox controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fox keeps working.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fox can do anything to dispel that myth.
DMX is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
just content to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
shoots in for a double leg but Fox sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fox looks to clinch

and counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fox with a knee to the head.
Steve Fox has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

tries to pull guard but Fox holds him up against the cage and eventually drops back down to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
DMX showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
