Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between davie hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrick Cassel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cassel has chosen Sucks to be me as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rodrick Cassel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cassel misses with a looping right.
Cassel scores with a jab to the head.
It looks like davie hogan has been cut.
Cassel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from hogan.

hogan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cassel's half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Cassel closes the distance and clinches up with hogan, looking for a takedown. Cassel pushes hogan against the cage but hogan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

hogan shoots for a takedown but Cassel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cassel scores with a jab. hogan acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Cassel closes the distance and clinches up with hogan, looking for a takedown. Cassel pushes hogan against the cage but hogan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from hogan.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cassel misses with a few strikes there.

hogan forces Cassel back against the cage and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodrick Cassel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Cassel leaves hogan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Cassel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has hogan pinned against the cage. hogan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cassel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

hogan feints and as Cassel raises his hands in defense, hogan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cassel is on top in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cassel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. hogan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
davie hogan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cassel quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! hogan has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Cassel celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
