Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Brugnolo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Sumrall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brugnolo comes to the ring accompanied by Poison - Alice Cooper. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Pat Sumrall!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sumrall throws a push kick but Brugnolo slaps the foot to one side.
Sumrall scores with a sloppy right hand. Brugnolo should have avoided that one.
Sumrall stuns Brugnolo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Sumrall misses with a series of wild punches.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Brugnolo.
Brugnolo has a takedown stuffed.
Sumrall connects with a high kick.


It looks like Kevin Brugnolo has been cut.
Pat Sumrall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sumrall rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brugnolo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sumrall is looking to clinch.
Brugnolo swings for the body but Sumrall moves out of range.
Sumrall pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sumrall swings for the body but Brugnolo moves out of range.
Sumrall comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Sumrall shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brugnolo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sumrall working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sumrall throws a strike but Brugnolo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Sumrall is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brugnolo defends well.
Brugnolo wants to control from the top but Sumrall keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Brugnolo is really struggling to control Sumrall but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Sumrall manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brugnolo manages to get himself to full guard.
Sumrall missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Sumrall keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Brugnolo's head.

Sumrall throwing strikes but missing.
Sumrall cracks Brugnolo with a solid left hand.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sumrall missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Brugnolo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sumrall!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sumrall tries to reverse the position but Brugnolo maintains control.

Brugnolo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Sumrall can't escape the position.

It looks like Pat Sumrall has been cut.
Brugnolo lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.


That has opened up Pat Sumrall's cut even more.

Pat Sumrall's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Pat Sumrall's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Kevin Brugnolo!
