Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Harper!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Harper. No joy for Richards on that attempt.

Harper shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Richards's guard.

Harper is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Richards can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Harper shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Richards pinned against the cage. Richards gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Harper is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Richards.

No joy there for Harper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Harper shoots in for a takedown but Richards shows good takedown defense.
Scott Richards has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Harper.

Harper shoots for a double leg takedown but Richards sprawls well. He's pushed Harper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Richards is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Harper pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Harper dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Richards changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Harper fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Richards counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Richards wants to pass the guard but Harper is keeping the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Richards has gone for a leg lock! Harper slips out almost immediately though and dives into Richards's guard.

Richards bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Harper's guard.

Richards is really struggling to control Harper but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Harper tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Richards slips nicely into half guard.
Richards wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harper keeps working.

Richards postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Harper to stand up.

Richards gets the takedown into side control.

Richards tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Harper throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Richards wants to take a breather but Harper manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Richards.

Richards gets to his feet - Harper follows without any prompting.

and Richards counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Harper!

Harper takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Richards's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
