Jones Jr has chosen Roy Jones - Can't be touched as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Roy Jones Jr has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James ducks under a wild hook from Jones Jr.

Jones Jr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but James circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones Jr stuffs the takedown.
James moves forwards but Jones Jr connects with a nice, crisp jab.


It looks like Rick James has been cut.
Jones Jr will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones Jr throws out the jab.
James misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jones Jr swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

James shoots in for a double leg but Jones Jr sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

James changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones Jr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
James postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
James wants to control but Jones Jr is keeping him busy.
James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

James tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
James wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones Jr keeps working.

James tries to move to full mount but Jones Jr actually manages to regain half guard.
James is looking to take a break and control but Jones Jr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
James closes the distance and clinches up with Jones Jr, looking for a takedown. James pushes Jones Jr against the ropes but Jones Jr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
James fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Roy Jones Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
