Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Willis!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Willis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
velazquez avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Willis.
Willis moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Willis misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Willis throwing strikes but velazquez manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
velazquez prevents Willis from escaping the position.
Willis manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
velazquez prevents Willis from improving his position.
velazquez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
velazquez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Willis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Willis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst velazquez is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Willis is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! velazquez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! velazquez has escaped and now he's on top!
Willis manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
velazquez is breathing heavily.

Willis moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, velazquez has worked his arm free - good work by velazquez!
velazquez gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Willis lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
velazquez is in a horrible position here. Willis smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patrick Willis dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Willis shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
velazquez won't allow Willis to pass to mount.
Willis is keen to just control but velazquez is a slippery customer.
Willis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Willis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks velazquez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Willis lands a nice short elbow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Willis connects with a nice short shot to velazquez's temple.

Willis working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee warns velazquez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Willis cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Willis postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! velazquez is out cold - huge knockout for Willis!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Patrick Willis!
