Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Eriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AJ Lumsden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eriksson comes to the cage accompanied by The Young Punx - "Ready For The Fight feat. Count Bass D". AJ Lumsden has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Magnus Eriksson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, AJ Lumsden!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lumsden shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Eriksson defends it nicely.
Lumsden moves in looking to clinch but Eriksson pushes him off.
Lumsden fails with the takedown.
Lumsden misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Magnus Eriksson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of AJ Lumsden.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Eriksson!


It looks like AJ Lumsden has been cut.
Lumsden shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Eriksson sprawls well. Eriksson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lumsden gets slowly back to his feet.
Eriksson looks to land a combination. Lumsden sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lumsden has Eriksson up against the cage in a clinch.
Eriksson tries to circle away but Lumsden has him pinned against the cage.

Lumsden is trying desperately to land a takedown but Eriksson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Lumsden.
Lumsden tries to pull guard but Eriksson won't allow it.
Eriksson is trying to force a seperation but Lumsden has the dominant position.
Lumsden tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Eriksson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lumsden tries to clinch there but Eriksson circles away.
Eriksson connects with a single shot there.
Eriksson misses with the combination.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lumsden is defended easily by Eriksson.

Eriksson is looking to advance position but Lumsden has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Eriksson is trying to escape the mount.
Lumsden throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Eriksson tries to reverse the position but Lumsden maintains control.
Lumsden trying to control but Eriksson is having none of it.
Eriksson wants to hold on but Lumsden pushes him away.
Eriksson is working to get back to half guard.

Lumsden tries to control but Eriksson wriggling away.
Lumsden throwing strikes here but Eriksson is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Eriksson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Lumsden tries to control but Eriksson wriggling away.
Eriksson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lumsden looking to hit a scissor sweep but Eriksson is one step ahead there.
Eriksson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Lumsden scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Lumsden avoids a punch combination nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Lumsden counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lumsden.
Lumsden slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Magnus Eriksson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on AJ Lumsden's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Eriksson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lumsden tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Eriksson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lumsden has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lumsden wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Lumsden has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Eriksson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Lumsden wants to control but Eriksson is keeping busy.
Eriksson trying to control the position but Lumsden manages to sink in the hooks.

Eriksson defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Lumsden's arms.
Lumsden is breathing heavily.
Lumsden somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Eriksson just trying to survive but Lumsden is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
You can see the frustration on Eriksson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Eriksson turns into Lumsden and is now in his guard.
Eriksson is looking to work some ground and pound but Lumsden has wrist control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lumsden tries for a takedown but Eriksson circles away easily

and Eriksson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Eriksson.

and Eriksson counters with a right hand to the body.
Eriksson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lumsden circles away quickly and effectively.

Eriksson moves into range and clinches up with Lumsden.
A bit of stalling here from Eriksson.
Eriksson tries to score a body lock takedown but Lumsden shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Eriksson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lumsden gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Eriksson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Lumsden is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Eriksson to the mat. Eriksson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Eriksson controls Lumsden momentarily but Lumsden frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Eriksson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lumsden's guard now.

Lumsden is not content to let Eriksson control the position.

Lumsden has hold of Eriksson's hands but Eriksson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That was a close second round but I would say that Magnus Eriksson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on AJ Lumsden's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Eriksson throws a head kick but Lumsden moves out of range.
Eriksson lands a nice shot that snaps Lumsden's head back.
No joy there for Eriksson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Eriksson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lumsden moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lumsden drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Lumsden gets to his feet - Eriksson follows without any prompting.

Lumsden bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Eriksson wants to get back to his feet but Lumsden drags him back down.
Lumsden wants to control for a moment but Eriksson uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Eriksson is staying active underneath Lumsden, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lumsden is just content to waste time from the top position. Eriksson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Eriksson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Eriksson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lumsden is one step ahead there.
Eriksson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lumsden is controlling him.
Eriksson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Eriksson tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lumsden tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Eriksson counters with a one-two to the body.
Lumsden gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Eriksson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lumsden looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Eriksson is looking to break free of the clinch but Lumsden has double underhooks.
Lumsden looking to stall.

Lumsden breaks the clinch.
Eriksson misses with a few strikes there.
Lumsden wants to clinch up but Eriksson keeps it at a distance.

Eriksson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Eriksson rushes Lumsden and presses him up against the cage.
Eriksson wants to get back to striking at distance but Lumsden won't allow it.

Eriksson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lumsden doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Eriksson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Magnus Eriksson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
AJ Lumsden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Lumsden counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lumsden.
Eriksson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lumsden won't allow Eriksson to get back to his feet.

Lumsden is pushing down on Eriksson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Eriksson is fighting to maintain full guard but Lumsden has managed to sneak the leg through.
Eriksson tries to kick Lumsden off but Lumsden keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Lumsden is looking to take a break and control but Eriksson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Eriksson wants to get back to his feet.

Lumsden is looking for a kimura here.

Eriksson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

AJ Lumsden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Eriksson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
