The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benny throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Benny swats away the attempt to clinch by McFinnigan.
Benny slips under a jab from McFinnigan.

McFinnigan tries to bum rush Benny with a series of wild strikes but Benny uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McFinnigan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Benny moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Benny misses with an uppercut.
Benny throws a sloppy body shot
letting McFinnigan counter with a right hand.
Benny swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McFinnigan counters with a left to the body.
McFinnigan looks to land a left hand but Benny moved out of range nicely.
Benny misses with a hook to the body
and Benny takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
McFinnigan throws a shot from downtown. Benny moves away and avoids it.
McFinnigan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Benny.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McFinnigan throws a nice looking combination but Benny bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
McFinnigan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Benny drops McFinnigan with a beautiful combination! McFinnigan stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Benny is looking for the KO!

Benny throws a body punch but McFinnigan moves out of range.
Benny misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McFinnigan.
Benny is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down McFinnigan rather than just go for the knockout.

Benny uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McFinnigan.

The fight stays on the outside here - McFinnigan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Benny missing with a left hand there. McFinnigan was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Benny misses with a hook. McFinnigan ducked under it nicely.
McFinnigan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Benny counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Benny throws out a loose jab but McFinnigan uses good head movement to avoid it.
McFinnigan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McFinnigan misses with a double jab.
Benny lands a left and a right that send McFinnigan crashing to the mat, dazed. Benny thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oh McFinnigan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Patrick McFinnigan's cut is getting worse.
Benny darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! McFinnigan's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Benny before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hugh Benny!
