The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
evans moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Maquez lands with a nice body punch.
evans looks to land a right hand but Maquez moved out of range.
Maquez stuffs the takedown attempt from evans. evans gets slowly back to his feet.
Maquez throws a hook but evans blocks it.
Maquez just misses with a punch to the body.
evans tries to clinch there but Maquez circles away.
Maquez lands with a straight right. evans didn't see that one coming.

evans feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
