Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Wretches and Kings by Linkin Park as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kent to the mat! Kent manages to get full guard.
Kent looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Smith is stalling in the full guard.

Kent working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Smith.
Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Kent has wrist control.

I looks like Smith might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Dan Smith just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kent was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kent is trying to hold Smith in close to prevent damage but Smith has managed to pass into half guard.
Smith is trying to control the action in half guard but Kent is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kent wants to control but Smith is keeping busy.

Smith jumps guard and drags Kent to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Smith seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
