Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Skaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Moffit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moffit has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Alex Skaar could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Brandon Moffit's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skaar wants to clinch up but Moffit keeps it at a distance.

Skaar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Skaar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Moffit wants to sweep here but Skaar controlling him for the moment.
Skaar working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Moffit's head.
Skaar wants to control from the top but Moffit keeps moving.

Moffit wants to get back to his feet but Skaar is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Skaar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Skaar wants to stand but Moffit has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Moffit throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Skaar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Moffit as he jumps to the side.

Skaar closes the distance and clinches.

Moffit escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Moffit shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Skaar's guard.
Skaar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Moffit pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Skaar is keeping the position for now.
Skaar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moffit's guard.
Moffit wants to sweep here but Skaar controlling him for the moment.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Moffit has eaten all the pies!
Moffit manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Skaar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Moffit is working away from the top position though.

Skaar is pulling down on Moffit's head to control his posture.
Moffit prevents Skaar from getting back to his feet.

Skaar pulls Moffit in to control the position.

Moffit is working Skaar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Moffit decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Skaar, up you get!
Moffit lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Moffit looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Skaar moves in looking to clinch but Moffit pushes him off.

Skaar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Moffit is refusing to be controlled, as Skaar sits in half guard.
Moffit pushes Skaar off but Skaar dives into side control.
Moffit is looking to reverse the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Skaar working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Moffit turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Skaar off and cradles Moffit's limp body as Skaar celebrates with his corner.
