The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
randall closes the distance and clinches up with Jobber xXx, looking for a takedown. randall pushes Jobber xXx against the cage but Jobber xXx circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

randall closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jobber xXx did well to prevent randall getting side control.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jobber xXx has eaten all the pies!

randall is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jobber xXx is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

randall tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no randall has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jobber xXx wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
randall creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jobber xXx sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Jobber xXx pushes randall away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, randall gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Jobber xXx avoids any damage from the ground and pound of randall.

randall thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
randall fails to land the takedown.
randall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jobber xXx sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten randall somewhat.

Jobber xXx throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around randall's waist but randall gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jobber xXx off to one side.

randall drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and randall jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

randall is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jobber xXx wants to stand and escape but randall is having none of it.

randall drops back looking for a leg! Jobber xXx is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jobber xXx manages to kick randall off! randall jumps back into Jobber xXx's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
randall controlling from the top position.
randall postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
randall trying to control but Jobber xXx is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
randall lands a two punch combo.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from randall is defended easily by Jobber xXx.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
