Bonney comes to the cage accompanied by Billy Get Your Guns. Cicero has chosen Woke Up This Morning as his entrance music. William H Bonney has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Cicero!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cicero avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bonney tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cicero feints and as Bonney raises his hands in defense, Cicero changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cicero avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bonney working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cicero doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cicero manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bonney has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cicero can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cicero is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Bonney manages to reverse the position and now he's in Cicero's guard. Nice work there by Bonney.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cicero holds on and takes a little breather.

Bonney drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cicero manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bonney has Cicero in his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Cicero got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bonney has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cicero has managed to get both his arms back between Bonney's legs - danger averted.
Cicero won't allow Bonney to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bonney looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cicero has picked Bonney up and slammed him! Bonney can't keep hold of the triangle and Cicero manages to pass to side control!
Cicero tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Bonney seems a little lost for a moment, as Cicero dominates the positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bonney tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cicero paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bonney has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bonney there as he acknowledges the shot.

Cicero throws out a loose jab but Bonney uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Cicero counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Cicero buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cicero connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bonney ducks under a wild hook from Cicero.
Bonney clinches but Cicero breaks the clinch
and Cicero counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bonney takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Bonney gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Cicero.


Bonney is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bonney tries to clinch
and Cicero counters with a right hand to the body.
Bonney shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Oh Bonney is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bonney looks up at the clock. Bad move! Cicero lands a right hand from hell, dropping Bonney. Cicero pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Cicero!
