The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanneman throws a nice looking combination but Bishop bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hanneman throws a right hand that Bishop ducks under and follows up with a left that Bishop also avoids with ease.

Bishop shoots in and bounces Hanneman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bishopis looking to pass into half guard but Hanneman pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hanneman is in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bishop drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hanneman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hanneman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hanneman!
Hanneman wants to stand but Bishop has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Hanneman tries to stand but Bishop is controlling from the bottom.

Hanneman tries to bum rush Bishop with a series of wild strikes but Bishop uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Bishop has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hanneman off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Bishop drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Bishop closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hanneman to the mat! Hanneman manages to get full guard.

Bishop stops Hanneman from standing up.

Bishop drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hanneman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bishop has Hanneman in his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bishop has his hands on Hanneman's head, controlling the position.

Bishop has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hanneman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
