Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Borre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Perry!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Borre throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Perry was covering up waiting for the punch and Borre finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Perry throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Perry looking for a sweep. Not yet Perry, not yet.
Borre passes Perry's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Borre passes to side control.
Perry trying to control but Borre flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
You can see the frustration on Perry's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Borre is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Borre is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Perry knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Perry for a finish.

Perry wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Borre is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Perry defends it well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Borre seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Perry for as long as he can get away with.
Borre lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Perry tries to get to full guard but Borre has control of the leg.

and Borre counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Perry!
Borre tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Borre fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Borre lands with some strikes.
Borre controlling the position easily from mount.
Borre is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The referee warns Perry that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Borre lands a heavy elbow.

Borre has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Perry is wriggling around trying to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Borre cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borre feints and as Perry raises his hands in defense, Borre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Borre showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. John Borre just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Perry throws a nice inside leg kick.

Borre scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Borre is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Borre is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Perry is just riding it out for now. Borre eventually gives up the hold.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Borre with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Perry is looking for a sweep. Borre is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Borre is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Perry can do to turn this around?

Borre decides to return to a standing position.
Borre missing with a left hand there. Perry was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Perry misses with a looping left.

Borre bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Perry is being controlled here.

Borre has an Americana. Perry didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Borre is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Borre hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
