PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Dimasuay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Graeme Souness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dimasuay comes to the cage accompanied by Shoot to kill. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Souness feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Souness accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Souness drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Souness jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Souness got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dimasuay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Souness has managed to get both his arms back between Dimasuay's legs - danger averted.

Souness is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dimasuay is looking for a triangle but Souness pushes his legs off easily.
Souness stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dimasuay swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Souness wants to control from the top but Dimasuay keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Souness has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Souness content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Dimasuay has locked up a guillotine! Dimasuay's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Souness is holding on here and Dimasuay must be using up a lot of energy. Souness has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Dimasuay gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
