The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson wants to clinch up but Douglas keeps it at a distance.
Wilson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Douglas throws a series of punches but Wilson avoids them all with ease.
Douglas throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wilson on the side of the head.
It looks like Bull Wilson has been cut.
Douglas throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Buster Douglas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wilson tries to close the distance and clinch but Douglas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Douglas throws a right hand that Wilson ducks under and follows up with a left that Wilson also avoids with ease.

and Wilson counters with a head kick. That will keep Douglas thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Douglas bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Wilson! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

and Wilson counters by clinching up.

Wilson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Douglas fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Wilson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Douglas misses with a hook. Wilson ducked under it nicely.
Douglas is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Douglas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wilson rushes Douglas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Buster Douglas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bull Wilson.
Wilson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Douglas swats away the attempt to clinch by Wilson.
Douglas tries to bum rush Wilson with a series of wild strikes but Wilson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Douglas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wilson.
Wilson wants to clinch
and Douglas counters with a three punch combo that has Wilson backing up. Wilson nods at Douglas to acknowledge the strikes.
Wilson shoots in but Douglas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Douglas misses with a double jab
and Wilson counters with a nice kick to the body.
Douglas cracks Wilson with an uppercut from hell and Wilson crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Douglas's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wilson is working an open guard so Douglas takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Wilson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Douglas drops Wilson with a big left hand and mounts him. Wilson is in big trouble!
The cut above Bull Wilson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Wilson tries to hold on but Douglas postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Buster Douglas dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bull Wilson's cut.

Douglas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wilson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Douglas steps into range and cracks Wilson with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Wilson flops backwards and Douglas dives into his guard looking to finish!
Wilson wants to stand but Douglas is controlling the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wilson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Douglas is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Wilson wants to sweep but no luck.
Wilson is working an open guard so Douglas takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Wilson is breathing heavily.

Douglas lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Bull Wilson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Douglas cracks Wilson with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Wilson tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Douglas pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Wilson is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
