Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Moss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Igor Potempkin!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moss shoots for a takedown but Potempkin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Moss slips under a jab.
Potempkin leaves Moss with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Potempkin stuns Moss with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Moss tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Potempkin swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Moss. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moss shoots for a double leg takedown but Potempkin sprawls well. He's pushed Moss's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Moss fails with a takedown attempt.
Potempkin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Potempkin wants it to stay on the feet.
Moss is breathing heavily.
Moss shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Potempkin sprawls well. Potempkin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Moss gets slowly back to his feet.
Potempkin scores with the left hand. Moss knows he should have avoided that one.
It looks like Jay Moss has been cut.
Potempkin throws a nice outside leg kick.
Potempkin stuns Moss with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Potempkin.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Potempkin connects with a single shot there.
Moss takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Potempkin scores with a nice body kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Potempkin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Potempkin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Igor Potempkin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Potempkin, as that shot connected.
Moss looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Potempkin is fending him off so far but Moss persists. Nope, Potempkin circles away and we're back to standing.
A good leg kick by Potempkin.
Potempkin thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Moss if he has to take too many more of those.
Moss tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Moss takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Moss. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Potempkin lands a nice looking body shot.
Potempkin lands a slapping body shot.
Potempkin rushes Moss with punches - Moss moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Moss goes down! Potempkin follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Igor Potempkin!
