PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aamakualenalena Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Donkers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robinson comes to the cage accompanied by The Verve- Bittersweet Symphony. Donkers has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Robinson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Robinson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Donkers is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Donkers wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Robinson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Robinson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Robinson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Donkers is not content to let Robinson control the position.
Donkers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Robinson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Donkers, who protects the arm well.
Robinson wants to take a breather but Donkers manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Robinson.
Robinson passes Donkers's left leg - he's now in half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Robinson is controlling the pace.
Robinson is looking to advance position but Donkers won't allow it.
Robinson wants to control but Donkers is keeping him busy.
Robinson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Donkers is refusing to be controlled, as Robinson sits in half guard.

Donkers is defending against the submission attempts here by Robinson.

Robinson maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Donkers could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Robinson has cracked it and Donkers is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Robinson!
