The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whyte has a takedown stuffed.
Whyte ducks under a wild hook from Hulk.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Whyte.

Hulk moves into the clinch successfully.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Hulk prevents a takedown attempt there.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hulk takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Whyte tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Hulk has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Whyte regains guard immediately.

Whyte is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Whyte working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hulk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hulk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hulk might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Whyte lands a big shot there that rocks Hulk but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Whyte is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hulk sees it coming and defends easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hulk is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dana Whyte will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Whyte fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hulk on the side of the head.
Whyte takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Hulk throws a sloppy head kick and Whyte moves out of range easily.

so Hulk counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hulk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
