Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brody Savanis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brody Savanis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Banner!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Savanis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Savanis missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Savanis not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Savanis thows a huge punch but Banner dodges it nicely.
Savanis throws a strike but Banner avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Savanis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Savanis sitting in guard here, content to control.

Savanis gets to his feet. Banner looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Savanis shoots for a takedown but Banner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Savanis moves out of range of the body kick.
A slow jab from Banner misses its intended target.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Savanis, right into the meat.
Banner throws a sloppy head kick and Savanis moves out of range easily.
Savanis throws a combination. Banner tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
A nice combination there by Savanis.
Banner tries a head kick but it misses.

Banner is breathing heavily.
Good exchange - Savanis coming out on top.
Savanis shoots in for a takedown but Banner shows good takedown defense.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Savanis.

Banner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Savanis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Banner looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Banner dodges the ground and pound from Savanis.

Savanis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Banner is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Savanis passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Banner!

Savanis postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Banner looks a forlorn figure.

Savanis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Banner to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Banner shrugs it off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's time! Savanis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Savanis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Banner napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Savanis throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Banner works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Savanis tries to pass to full mount but Banner defends it.

Savanis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Banner has managed to free his arm - good work.
Still in half guard, Savanis seems content to control.

Savanis stands up and beckons Banner to his feet.

Banner swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Brody Savanis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Banner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Savanis avoids the head kick by Banner.
Savanis fails to land with a series of punches.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Savanis connects with a nice short shot to Banner's temple.

Savanis works his foot free and advances to mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Bruce Banner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Savanis is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Banner can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Well Savanis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
