Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alf Artigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick James is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Artigan has time to react.
James throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

James misses with a takedown attempt - Artigan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Alf Artigan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Artigan is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

James shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Artigan is trying to defend but James finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Despite being in the dominant position, Nick James just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Artigan pinned against the cage. Artigan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

James throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Artigan stumbling backwards into the cage! Artigan bounces back off the cage towards James, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! James lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! James celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
