Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Baxter Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lem Sukaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Baxter Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lem Sukaka!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Sukaka looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Morgan has a takedown stuffed.

Morgan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Morgan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sukaka does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Morgan is controlling the pace.
Morgan lands with a punch from half guard.
Morgan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sukaka strikes from the bottom but Morgan uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Sukaka is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Morgan asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Sukaka tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Sukaka is trying to improve his position.
Morgan scores with a couple of short elbows.

Sukaka throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
The referee asks Morgan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Morgan prefers to stall for the moment though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sukaka tries to roll over but Morgan keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morgan jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sukaka is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sukaka and Morgan has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Morgan is looking to take a break and control but Sukaka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sukaka tries to get to full guard but Morgan has control of the leg.

Morgan is breathing heavily.
Morgan looking to control but Sukaka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sukaka holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Morgan tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baxter Morgan dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Morgan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sukaka as he avoids it easily.
Sukaka lands a head kick. Morgan smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Morgan throws a nice looking combination but Sukaka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Morgan tries to close the distance and clinch but Sukaka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Morgan is looking to clinch.
Morgan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sukaka fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sukaka keeps the fight on the outside.
Lem Sukaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morgan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sukaka manages to avoid it.

and Morgan counters with a single leg into guard. Sukaka didn't expect that.

Sukaka doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Morgan stands up from Sukaka's guard - Morgan perhaps looking for a knockout.
Sukaka tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sukaka stuffs the takedown attempt from Morgan. Morgan gets slowly back to his feet.

Sukaka lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sukaka tries to clinch but Morgan moves out of range.
Sukaka shoots in looking for a takedown. Morgan tries to sprawl out of it but Sukaka keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morgan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Morgan feints and as Sukaka raises his hands in defense, Morgan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sukaka is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sukaka has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Morgan has passed into side control.

Morgan has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Sukaka!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sukaka is mounted and he's throwing punches. Is that wise?

Morgan scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Sukaka is looking for a way out.
Sukaka breaks Morgan's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Morgan is not content to let Sukaka control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baxter Morgan dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Morgan misses with a takedown attempt - Sukaka sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Morgan wants to clinch up but Sukaka keeps it at a distance.
Sukaka throws a sloppy head kick and Morgan moves out of range easily.
Baxter Morgan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Morgan is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sukaka's shoulder. That is not cool.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Morgan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sukaka, up you get!
Sukaka looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Morgan is fending him off so far but Sukaka persists. Nope, Morgan circles away and we're back to standing.

Sukaka closes the distance and clinches.

Sukaka lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Sukaka looks to move to half guard but instead Morgan has passed into mount! Damn!
Morgan wants to control the pace but Sukaka is squirming around nicely.
Sukaka bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Sukaka thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Morgan's head.

Morgan works his way to full guard. Good work.

Morgan is looking to stand up but Sukaka isn't so interested in that idea.

Morgan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Baxter Morgan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Morgan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
