Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Lorenzo!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lorenzo lands with a thumping leg kick.

Lorenzo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva wants to get back to full guard.
Lorenzo thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.
Lorenzo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Silva throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Still in half guard, Lorenzo seems content to control.
Lorenzo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lorenzo to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Silva thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Silva is looking for a triangle but Lorenzo pushes his legs off easily.

Lorenzo gets to his feet - Silva follows without any prompting.
Lorenzo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lorenzo shoots in for a double leg but Silva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Silva has his takedown stuffed

and Lorenzo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lorenzo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lorenzo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva pushes a forearm under Lorenzo's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Lorenzo is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
