PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stewart Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas comes to the cage accompanied by Drowning Pool - Step up. Kelly has chosen Dropkick Murphy's - Shipping Up To Boston as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Stewart Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas wants to clinch.
Kelly avoids the head kick by Douglas.
Douglas doesn't manage to clinch there - Kelly circles away.

Douglas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kelly in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kelly throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Douglas works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Kelly is trying to work for a kimura but Douglas is defending well.
Douglas is breathing heavily.
Kelly is looking to take a break and control but Douglas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kelly working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Kelly lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Douglas could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Douglas is trying to stand.
Kelly seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Douglas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Douglas is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kelly scores with a couple of nice shots.

Kelly is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Douglas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kelly.

Kelly wants to lay and pray for a moment but Douglas keeps working.

Kelly is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Douglas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kelly fails to land with a series of punches.
Douglas has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Gavin Douglas has been cut.
Kelly throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Douglas.
Kelly goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Kelly lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gavin Douglas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kelly scores with a nice strike.
Douglas seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Kelly shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Douglas is backing up but Kelly catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Douglas covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Kelly Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
