The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
lopez misses with a looping right.
Reid blocks a jab.
Reid slips a straight right by lopez.
lopez misses with a hook. Reid ducked under it nicely.
Reid defending well as lopez loads up on a big left hand.
Reid has a takedown stuffed.
Reid shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with lopez but lopez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
lopez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Reid slips a straight right by lopez.

lopez cracks Reid with a big right hand and Reid goes down!

It looks like Alex Reid has been cut.
lopez content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
lopez is pushing down on Reid's leg trying to pass to half guard. Reid is fighting to maintain full guard but lopez has managed to sneak the leg through.
Reid is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That has opened up Alex Reid's cut even more.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
lopez scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

The cut above Alex Reid's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Reid tries to roll over but lopez keeps him under control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reid has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. lopez is working away from the top position though.
lopez is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Alex Reid's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Alex Reid's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
