The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bates drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bo takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Bates laying and praying for a moment but Bo takes advantage and regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bo has one foot on Bates's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Bo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bates tries to avoid it but Bo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bates to the ground. Bates escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bates scores with a nice head shot.
Bo looks for a takedown but Bates sprawls well.

Bo is looking to improve his position but Bates isn't that keen on the idea.

Bates postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Bo in real trouble here! The ref calls for Bo to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
