The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera fails with a takedown attempt.
Vera dives in and grabs Rossi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rossi pushes down on Vera's head and hops out.
Matt Vera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rossi moves into the clinch.
Rossi misses with a knee strike.
Rossi looking to throw knees to the head but Vera is blocking nicely.
Rossi lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Vera takes an elbow to the forehead.

It looks like Matt Vera has been cut.
Rossi comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Rossi obliges.
Rossi blocks an elbow strike from Vera.
Rossi prevents a takedown attempt there.
Al Rossi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Vera.
Vera takes a shot to the head.
Rossi lands a right hand.
Rossi lands an elbow just above Vera 's eye.
Rossi gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Vera is rocked!
Rossi with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Vera is still on wobbly legs! Can Rossi finish him?
Rossi throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Vera blocks an elbow strike from Rossi.
Rossi jerks Vera's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Vera drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Rossi goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Rossi because Vera was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
