Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Rougeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott has chosen Down as his entrance music. Nathan Scott is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacques Rougeau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Scott!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rougeau gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Scott to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Scott stands up over Rougeau, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Rougeau swats away the attempt to clinch by Scott.
Scott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Scott has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rougeau is trying to keep an underhook but Scott manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Rougeau wants to get back to his feet.
Rougeau wants to control but Scott is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Rougeau is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Scott is looking for a kimura but Rougeau is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Scott to get the leverage.

Scott is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rougeau defends it well.
Scott seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rougeau does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scott is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rougeau doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Scott.

Rougeau leaves Scott with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Scott shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rougeau napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scott postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rougeau is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rougeau on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rougeau tries to get out of the position.

Rougeau utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rougeau shoots in and drives through. Scott sprawls well.

Scott is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rougeau is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Scott has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rougeau is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Scott yanks on the arm and Rougeau is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Scott.
