Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dylan James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Narima Koga!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koga throws a series of punches but James moves out of range.
Koga fails in his attempt to clinch.
James swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Koga throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by James.


It looks like Dylan James has been cut.
Koga misses with a head kick.
Narima Koga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koga scores with a head kick.
Koga avoids a punch combination nicely.
Koga lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but James circles away quickly and effectively.
Koga looks to land a combination. James sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

James tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Koga was well out of range. Poor timing from James.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
James is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

James wants to control from the top but Koga keeps moving.

James drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and James jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Koga moves in looking to clinch but James pushes him off.
No joy there for James, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Koga's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Koga duly obliges.
Koga pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and James counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Koga's guard now.
James wanted to stand there but Koga had control of the position.
James postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Narima Koga dominated that round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



James closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - James lands in his opponent's guard.
James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Koga keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

James decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Danga de danga de dang - Koga scores with a four punch combination!
James tries to close the distance and clinch but Koga swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice defenses there by Koga.
James is trying hard to land a takedown here. Koga sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice straight punches there by Koga. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Koga.

Dylan James's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
James circles away from the clinch attempt

and James counters with a nice double leg into side control. Koga won't be happy with that.
James cracks Koga with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Koga tries to escape but James is in control.
James is looking to take a break and control but Koga is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Koga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jeez, Dylan James's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

James shoots in for a takedown but Koga shows good takedown defense.
The fight stays on the outside here - Koga looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
