The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mora shoots in for a takedown but mijares shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
mijares throws a right hand that Mora ducks under and follows up with a left that Mora also avoids with ease.
Nice sprawl there from mijares as Mora shoots in.
mijares throws a right and a left that Mora avoids nicely.
mijares leaves Mora with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
rr mijares has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Namco Mora.
No joy there for mijares, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mora tries to close the distance and clinch up but mijares swats him away and circles back towards the center.

mijares jumps guard and drags Mora to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Mora looking to sit in guard and control but mijares gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mora is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

mijares drops Mora with a right and a left! mijares comes rushing in but Mora regains his composure and manages to keep mijares in guard.

Mora is rocked!

It looks like Namco Mora has been cut.

mijares arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Mora's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
