Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anil Kirbas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anil Kirbas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Kirbas moves out of range easily.
Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kirbas wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
Silva closes the distance but Kirbas moves to the side
and Kirbas counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kirbas.

Kirbas shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kirbas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kirbas wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Kirbas tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.
Silva doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Silva pushes Kirbas off and scrambles back to his feet.
Silva is looking to clinch.
Kirbas shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.
Kirbas throws a series of strikes that have Silva backpedaling.
Silva lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Kirbas is breathing heavily.
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kirbas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kirbas.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anil Kirbas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Silva counters by moving into the clinch.
Kirbas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.
Anderson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kirbas tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Silva obliges.
Silva is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Silva is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Kirbas wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Kirbas is looking to advance position but Silva has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Silva controlling the pace for now.
Kirbas wants to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
Kirbas is in all sorts of trouble here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva throws a quick inside leg kick.
Kirbas shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kirbas throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kirbas fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kirbas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kirbas misses with an uppercut.
Silva tries to clinch up but Kirbas circles away and keeps his distance.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.
Silva content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Silva manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Kirbas wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Kirbas wants to stand and escape but instead Silva has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kirbas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kirbas controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.

Silva decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Silva drives through and clinches with Kirbas against the cage.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Kirbas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Silva's guard now.

Kirbas gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kirbas shoots and misses

and Silva counters by moving into the clinch.

Kirbas is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Silva jumps guard and drags Kirbas to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kirbas throws a strike but Silva rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Silva decides to stand back up.
Kirbas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kirbas gets slowly back to his feet.
Silva clinches but Kirbas breaks the clinch
and Kirbas counters with a good low kick that Silva was not able to check.
Kirbas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kirbas blocks a jab.

Silva moves into the clinch.
Silva makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Kirbas wants to get back to striking at distance but Silva won't allow it.
Kirbas changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Silva fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Silva tries to clinch but Kirbas moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Silva connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kirbas uses from the top position.

Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
