PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Mikhail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Bunk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Bunk told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mikhail takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Bunk fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mikhail fails with a takedown attempt.
Mikhail defending well as Bunk loads up on a big left hand.

Mikhail changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bunk looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mikhail wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bunk keeps working.

Mikhail is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bunk is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Mikhail tries to advance to mount but can't.
Mikhail is looking to take a break and control but Bunk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mikhail tries to move to mount but Bunk blocks the move with his legs.

Mikhail is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bunk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mikhail wants to control but Bunk is keeping him busy.
Bunk stops Mikhail from passing to mount.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by Mikhail or perhaps it was just good defense by Bunk which made him look bad.
Mikhail walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Mikhail throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bunk's waist but Bunk gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mikhail off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Mikhail. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bunk lands the left hand.
Bunk throws a shot to the body.
Mikhail keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bunk.
Mikhail looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bunk is fending him off so far but Mikhail persists. Nope, Bunk circles away and we're back to standing.

Mikhail has Bunk pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Bunk manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mikhail has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bunk is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bunk throws a big uppercut that drops Mikhail! More strikes from Bunk and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Mikhail lies dazed against the ropes as Bunk celebrates with his cornermen!
