Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Tepes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott comes to the cage accompanied by Down. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vlad Tepes!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott closes the distance and clinches up with Tepes, looking for a takedown. Scott pushes Tepes against the cage but Tepes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Scott throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tepes sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Scott looks for a takedown but Tepes sprawls well.

Scott scores a takedown into full mount!

Scott jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tepes is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tepes and Scott has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tepes lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Tepes stalks Scott and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Scott's face. Scott staggers backwards, shaken.
Tepes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scott.
Scott slips a jab and a cross from Tepes.
Scott lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tepes circles away quickly and effectively.
A nice combination there by Tepes.
Scott takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Tepes throws a series of punches but Scott avoids them all with ease.
Scott doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Nathan Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters circle momentarily. Tepes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Tepes lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Scott backs up against the cage.
Tepes throws a right and a left that Scott avoids nicely.
Tepes misses with a few strikes there.
Scott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tepes's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Tepes duly obliges.
Tepes works Scott's body with a nice hook.
Scott tries to clinch but Tepes moves out of range.
Scott is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tepes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tepes connects with a single shot there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Scott is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No joy there for Tepes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tepes slaps away a takedown attempt from Scott, before circling back to the center of the mat.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Tepes lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Tepes.

Scott throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tepes was covering up waiting for the punch and Scott finishes the takedown easily into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tepes is on top in guard.

Tepes is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Tepes wants to take a breather but Scott is having none of it.
Scott is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Tepes jumps into side control!
Tepes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scott keeps working.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Tepes slows the pace down.
Tepes tries to stand but Scott is controlling his head.
Scott manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tepes's best efforts.
Scott wants to improve his position but Tepes is controlling well.
Scott regains full guard. Nicely done.
Tepes wants to get up but he can't break Scott's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Tepes wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Scott tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tepes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Scott somewhat.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Scott needs to keep his hands up - Tepes had a free shot at his head there.

Tepes throws a combination. Scott tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Scott takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Tepes walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Scott checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Horrible takedown by Scott or perhaps it was just good defense by Tepes which made him look bad.

Vlad Tepes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Tepes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Scott moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Scott has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Scott closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Scott lands in his opponent's guard.

Scott tries to free his leg and advance position but Tepes is retaining full guard.
Tepes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Scott thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tepes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Tepes is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Tepes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Scott is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tepes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tepes has escaped and now he's on top!

Vlad Tepes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Tepes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scott swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tepes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Tepes stays in close to Scott's body and controls the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Scott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tepes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tepes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nathan Scott has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tepes advances to half guard.
Well, if Tepes is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
