Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Glen Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paolo Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Da Silva comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Capoeira do Brasil (Sergio Mendes & Brazil 66) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Paolo Da Silva acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Da Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Da Silva lands in his opponent's guard.

Da Silva tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Knox wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Da Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Knox pulls his head out easily.
Knox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Da Silva on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Da Silva moves out of range of the strikes.
Knox lands a jab.
Knox throws a right hand that Da Silva ducks under and follows up with a left that Da Silva also avoids with ease.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Da Silva.
Da Silva has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Knox finds it's way round the side to connect with Da Silva's head.

Da Silva walks straight into a right hand from Knox - that's dropped him! Knox jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Da Silva from any more punishment! Da Silva complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
