Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between BC Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kanaan Rasheem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkins comes into the arena with Paint it Black blaring out of the sound system. BC Hawkins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, BC Hawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kanaan Rasheem!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasheem swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Rasheem moves in looking to clinch but Hawkins pushes him off.

Hawkins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rasheem looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hawkins working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hawkins throws a strike aimed at the side of Rasheem's head but Rasheem avoids it well.
A lull in the action here.

Hawkins tries for a kimura but Rasheem is defending well.
Rasheem manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Hawkins is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hawkins takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hawkins wants to free his trapped foot but Rasheem is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Rasheem is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hawkins is looking for a kimura but Rasheem is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hawkins to get the leverage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hawkins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rasheem but Rasheem pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Hawkins counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hawkins gets to his feet - Rasheem follows without any prompting.
Hawkins tries for a takedown but Rasheem sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Rasheem circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hawkins fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rasheem avoids it really well and circles away.
Rasheem keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hawkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rasheem paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hawkins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rasheem is fending him off so far but Hawkins persists. Nope, Rasheem circles away and we're back to standing.

Rasheem tries to clinch there but Hawkins circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

BC Hawkins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hawkins feints and as Rasheem raises his hands in defense, Hawkins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rasheem controls Hawkins momentarily but Hawkins frees himself.

Hawkins is stalling in the full guard.

Hawkins wants to control from the top but Rasheem keeps moving.
Hawkins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hawkins passes Rasheem's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hawkins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rasheem with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hawkins seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Hawkins thows a huge punch but Rasheem dodges it nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rasheem is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hawkins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hawkins's back!

Rasheem is not going to allow Hawkins to sit and survive in this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hawkins wriggles onto his back under a barage of strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hawkins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
