The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Souza throws a hook but Hardy avoids it easily.

de Souza pushes Hardy off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
de Souza throws a series of punches but Hardy avoids them all with ease.

de Souza stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and de Souza wants it to stay on the feet.
de Souza throws a nice looking combination but Hardy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hardy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hardy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hardy throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for de Souza because Hardy loaded up on that one.
Hardy goes for an armbar but he's not got it… de Souza turns into him and now he's in Hardy's guard.

Hardy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. de Souza doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. de Souza manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hardy has a closed guard, preventing de Souza from standing up.

Hardy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Hardy controls de Souza momentarily but de Souza frees himself.
de Souza wants to stand but Hardy is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
de Souza avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
de Souza wanted to stand there but Hardy had control of the position.
Hardy wants to sweep but no luck.
Hardy is looking to sinch up a triangle. de Souza throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hardy's body to avoid the submission. Hardy has instead reached around de Souza's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hardy arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
