Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hisashi Mikagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caio Fernandes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caio Fernandes!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mikagi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Fernandes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mikagi sprawls well. Mikagi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fernandes gets slowly back to his feet.

Mikagi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fernandes tries to avoid it but Mikagi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fernandes to the ground. Fernandes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mikagi stalks Fernandes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Fernandes's face. Fernandes staggers backwards, shaken.

Fernandes on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Mikagi drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mikagi is working for takedown but Fernandes is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mikagi keeps control of Fernandes as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Fernandes throws a nice head kick!

Mikagi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fernandes.

and Mikagi counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Fernandes is looking to control Mikagi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fernandes avoid being mounted?

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hisashi Mikagi will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mikagi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Mikagi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fernandes is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mikagi.

Caio Fernandes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Fernandes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
